A DAY after the last date for withdrawal of nominations, the BJP Friday announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would spend three days in Himachal Pradesh, closely followed by party chief Amit Shah and a dozen other prominent leaders listed as its ‘star campaigners.’ PM Modi will address two rallies in Fatehpur constituency of Kangra district and Daula Kaun in Sirmaur district on November 2. This will be Modi’s second visit to the state in one month. He had visited Bilaspur to lay a foundation stone of Rs 1,400-crore AIIMS project. During his rally, Modi had branded the Conngress government as “zamanati sarkar”. “Modiji will address poll rallies in all parliamentary constituencies that the BJP had won during the 2014 polls and once again he will spell out the Centre’s plans for Himachal Pradesh’s Vikas Yatra and defeat the Congress government’s incompetent and corrupt regime,” said Nadda. The BJP has not yet declared its chief ministerial candidate.
The party is banking on Modi card despite the Congress criticising the Centre’s demonetisation and GST policies. BJP national president Amit Shah will be in the state from October 30. He will camp for five days to hold poll meetings in all districts, beginning from Dalhousie and Jawali in Chamba and Kangra districts.
